Also Tideswell is centrally placed within the Peak District National park. The Hope Valley is only 5 miles away to the north with other lovely villages (Castleton, Hope, Hathersage) and walking up on to Kinder, Mam Tor and Stanage. Bakewell is only 8 miles away to the south and Buxton 8 miles to the west. There are many things to do throughout the peak from good restaurants (especially Rowleys in Baslow), great country pubs, outstanding walking / climbing / cycling, shopping, visiting the show caves in and around Castleton and many other attractions for both sunny days and rainy days.
